How to Fall Asleep When You Aren’t Tired

Introduction

Sleeplessness is a common ailment among healthy adults. While counting sheep may pass the time, it doesn’t always lull you to sleep. Whether it’s a big presentation in the morning or restless energy keeping you from slumber, there are ways to trick your body into a resting state. Read the below tips to find out how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You'll Need

  • Herbal or sleep-inducing tea
  • Journal
  • Pen

Steps

1

Step One

Make a cup of herbal or sleep-inducing tea such as Sidroga Good Night Sleep Tea.
2

Step Two

Take a deep breath and relax your body.
3

Step Three

Sip the tea.
4

Step Four

Return to bed and sit in an upright position with your tea on a bedside table.
5

Make a list in your journal of what you think is keeping you awake. This can range from specifics (“my fight with Mom”) to generalities (“the state of the environment”).

Step Six

Jot next to each item how you can help resolve it in the morning.
7

Step Seven

Finish your tea.
