How to Strengthen Your Lungs with Herbal Tea

Introduction

Herbs are food for our body and can help us balance body chemistry and maintain health. Herbs can provide energy and improve blood circulation to assist in eliminating toxins that accumulate in our bodies. Herbs can help to decrease congestion that is related to illness. Brew this tea as prevention at the first sign of respiratory condition; or as part of a maintenance program to restore lung tissue.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Steps

1

Step One

Brew a generous amount (around four tablespoons) of dried marshmallow root in two to three cups of water for approximately ten minutes.
2

Step Two

Remove the brewed marshmallow root from the stove top and add:
1 teaspoon of dried mullein leaf
1 teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves
1 teaspoon of dried coltsfoot
1 teaspoon of dried comfrey root

Allow the tea to steep for about ten minutes
3

Step Three

Strain the steeped tea and pour into a cup or container. Tea can be sweetened with honey, but may not be necessary since peppermint helps to overcome some of the bitterness of the herbs. Drink the tea while fresh in order to get the most therapeutic benefit; however, the tea can be stored in a mason jar in the refrigerator for a day or two.
