How to Make Herbal Tea for Colds or Flu

Introduction

Herbal tea has been used for hundreds of years as a soothing drink for those with a cold or flu. It can be made with simple medicinal herbs that can be found right in your kitchen.

Things You'll Need

  • Tea cup
  • Hot water
  • Green tea bag
  • 2 tsps. honey
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. whole cloves

Step One

Pour the hot water into the tea cup and place the tea bag into the cup.

Step Two

Add the honey, cinnamon, cloves and stir. Honey, cinnamon and cloves all have antiseptic properties, which can help your body fight viruses. The cloves with also help to numb a sore throat.

Step Three

Cover the cup with a paper towel or a dish cloth and let the tea steep for five minuets.

Step Four

Scoop out the cloves. The tea is now ready to drink.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can try this recipe with any type of tea. I just use green tea because it is so good for the body.
  • Do not try this recipe if you are allergic to honey.
