How to Treat Fevers with Chamomile

Introduction

Having a fever is not fun. Your whole body aches. You feel hot and sick. The conventional wisdom is to take aspirin or something that will help lower the fever. But if the fever is low-grade and your life isn't in danger, this could actually harm you in the long run.

A fever is something that your body initiates to help kill the germs inside of you. If you lower the fever too quickly, the germs live on. That's why I use chamomile. It's gentle and works with your body. It can help bring you relief without harming you in the long run.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You'll Need

  • 1 Chamomile tea bag
  • 1 Cup hot water
  • Large bowl
  • At least 10 ice cubes
  • Wash cloth or compress

Steps

1

Step One

Place chamomile tea bag in the bowl and fill it with hot water.
2

Step Two

Let steep for at least 10 minutes.
3

Step Three

Add ice cubes. When they melt, add some more. You want to make the water cool.
4

Step Four

Soak the wash cloth in the bowl. Squeeze the excess tea out. Place compress on your forehead and relax.
5

Step Five

When the compress gets too warm, dip in the bowl again and squeeze it out. Repeat the process until you feel better.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may need to add more ice cubes as the chamomile tea in the bowl begins to warm up.
